The mug is made of a delicate, extremely thin, high quality & heat-resistant glass. The handle could be better designed for more easy grasp-ability, but as far as the overall effect of the mug — it’s a nice piece of glass-ware, as aesthetically pleasing as it is useful. People with big hands or thumbs might find this cup liberating and easy to use because of the wide holder. I drink up to four cups of green and/or black teas each day and it increases my pleasure of tea-drinking. It’s sturdy, but you MUST NOT drop it. It will crack and break. But that does not make this mug a poorly constructed or inferior item. The thin glass is light like a feather and provides a unique experience of relishing tea. There is something special about handling and using an item that you must treat with delicateness to preserve. It teaches you to be conscious and gentle while handling the mug. The color of the tea is astoundingly clear and lovely — and that is its chief advantage. You can enjoy a deeper experience of drinking tea, meditating on its color. In this age of bombs and imperialistic wars, the killing of innocent civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan, I like drinking from something that reminds me that delicacy and care are important human values. We should learn to treat the world as one should learn to treat this mug. It’s not for Republicans

My husband bought this glass mug because the one bought years ago (and had been used for some years) which was made in Germany finanlly came to the end of its life. Apparently this new one looked and felt the same as the old one. BUT after a month or so of usage, it broke when it was placed on a counter top. The difference between the old one that was used for several years and this new one that only has a little more than a month’s life, without knowing the specification of production, this new one is made in China. Many products that are made in China are fine products, but not this one. After this one was broken, bought another 2 later. Same problem. Broke too easily and their lives are too short. It is not as “sturdy” as it claims on its box.
